garethace
Give exact manufacturer and model of the Geforce card please, so that other posters can go to the web site of the card maker and do some further investigation on this for you.

bigcahunak
bluemotions, Is there any existing problem, other than the agp spec speed of them? Not that I've tried it, but I believe your only problem is that your vid card will be limited to your mobo agp speed which will forcr it to work @ 4X. I wouldn't call it a problem, though... Greg Hess
A pixelating video card is a sign that the ram on the card is overheating. Are you overclocking the card? If not, the card could be damaged and need replacement. Contact Asus technical support with your problem so you can get an RMA. Temporary solutions would include... 1) Opening the case. 2) Blowing air across the video card, either with a slot cooler, or a twisty tie mounted fan. garethace
Says it supports all specs actually: Bus Standard: AGP 8X / 4X / 2X / 1X ANyhow the info will help people here look more deeply at your situation, in case there may be some issues in future. Let us know how you get on in due course, nVidia cards can be a bit driver fussy, at first but when you get them going, it should be a problem no more. The screen going all full of lines etc, is more a memory capacity problem usually than anything else, with the Memory bus getting saturated with more data than it can actually handle. This is why some motherboards that claim to accept 1GB of memory can have a hard time doing so with certain memory modules. IF you see my post here: http://www.cgarchitect.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=000200 And look at all the bios upgrades that were necessary for that ASUS board to solve problems with graphics cards, faster memory modules and various other issues, you will quickly understand HOW important your motherboard PCB version and bios version actually are. Please post the bios revision number and PCB revision number (written on the mobo) as this can have a huge impact on memory DIMM compatibility, AGP card compatibility and so on and so fourth. Download the latest bios upgrade for your mobo and see if the readme file it contains mentions anything about AGP cards. If not, then it is up to you to choose whether or not to upgrade your bios or not.

garethace
Looking at the bios History for the board it may just be a good idea if you included your exact processor model, memory standard (PC800 or PC1066) and Hard drive information. Notice a bios fix on top there for UDMA 6 mode hard drives.

bluemotions
hello every body,i downlaoded the latest bios it was actually the same that came with my motherboeard, same version,i guess the problem of that fuzzy strange lines disappeared after i installed the nvidia driver from thier site rather than that one that came with asus, the prolblem now that i dont feel my vga card is not performing the best of it,i m using this card with AUTODESK viz4,i dont feel it is performing good, some slow downs happens when i m moving objects it is like non smooth movemnts for floaters like render layout or walkthrough layout, besides the image in view port displays ghosting for objects, that i should move the mouse to get view port normal. i hope i made it clear, my processor is intel 2.4,with 1 gig RD ram pc 800 four pieces (256 each),biult in sound card and 80 gig westerndigital 7200 harddisk thnx everyone

garethace
The problem could just be as simple as the heat issues happening on the AMD platform. I.e. INvest in a very good case, heatsink and fans for 3d work. Boxx use all sparkle PSU which are bullet proof, and observe properly the requirments for case ventilation in a modern system. http://www.cgarchitect.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=000200#000006
