Tbonz
Having a problem with a scene I am working on. A single (exterior) mrareaspot is lighting the interior(along with a dimly self illuminated dome). Anyway the way the light is radiating from the light is like a cone fanning out. I tried moving the light away to make the spread less, but results weren't satisfactory. Also tried MRomni, photometric lights, and several of each type near each window opening. I am happy with the lighting in the image except for the ceiling(how the light is fanning) as well as the lack of shadows between the beams. I am open to suggestions, this has been a source of frustration for a few days now......:/ Thanks for your help! Todd
pmanahan
Can't help you with that but I do have a comment about the image. It is very nice but the one thing I noticed was the color on the outside of the lower part of the leather chair and the side of the footstool. Add a fill light to bounce some of the warmth from the red floor onto those areas, it looks a bit cool to me. There is a lot of color in leather. nice piece. pmanahan
joske
put a mr area spot in front of each (or 2) opening(s) make area to match more or less the size of your window opnening. use one spot for sunlight (far away) lower total amount of photons (because u have a lot more lights) to reduce the extra render time that should give beter results, because this is the best simulation of real life light on a sunny day (and when trying to have workable rendertimes)
