Eric
Anyone know if its possilble to make the square footage of a room tag update whenever the room size is changed? I'm using Arch Desktop 2005, but all of our drawings are simple linework for compatiblity issues within our company. Can I use the Area tool to create the boundary Area line, and have it somehow link to a room tag so the Square Footage calc changes automatically? Eric
No one knows how to do this?? I can run down to the software store and buy a cheap $50 home architect program that will do automatic squarefoot calculations and automatically update a room tag, but ADT, costing several thousands of dollars, can't do it? Perhaps it's possible, but no one knows how to do it. -Obviously, this brings up something I've noticed with ADT several times. It's very powerful, but not at all user friendly. I use AutoCAD on a daily basis for production CAD work. However, none of us in our company have been able to migrate over to the ADT side of our software because of the rediculous learning curve. For example - Detail Manager, Design Center, Tool Palettes, Content Browser, and the standard block insertion methods. These are all ways to drop blocks into your drawing, among other things. GIVE ME A BREAK!!! Autodesk, It's called "Streamline" - learn it!
