Terms for occupations

Hi,

i would like to now if 3d renderer and architect are two separated occupations or they just complete each other? What is the right term of 3d renderer? Does it have any request by the market as a standalone occupation?

I’m asking that because I don’t have any architectural background so I’m focused more in visualizing and rendering factors.

Thanks

Shay

yes. i self title myself as an architectural visualiser. i do 3d cgi and am starting to water colour paint again after a few years break.

in my work place i've got an office juniour so keen to learn visualisation as a career. but i've told him it'll mean leaving the architectural college path behind. he chooses one or the other. he wont have time for both. so visualisation he chose.

a young padawan learner have I ;)

he's just finishing an HNC in architecture now (the first 4 years part time in college) so thats a perfect point to switch, giving him an ideal architectural backround.

i've been searching out an apprentice for 3 years now with no luck. imo you need a burning passion to learn cg architecture. you must want to do it as a hobby. do it for free if you could. luckily this chap fits the bill.

you certainly dont need an archi backround, but it certainly helps big time.
