chuck
a friend of mine directed me to this site: (removed from post) there's a ton of software at prices too good to be true. i'm assuming this is illegal right? the site's terms of purchase shows that you can't register the software.... so how are these people doing this without getting busted? thanks, chuck

chuck
thanks...i didn't mean to cause trouble. it "looks" legit, but too good to be true. i don't understand how they operate like that.
mskin
May I ask.... did this site offer OEM software at unbelievable prices? I was directed to a similar site and questioned the legality of it.
chuck
May I ask.... did this site offer OEM software at unbelievable prices? I was directed to a similar site and questioned the legality of it. yeah, prices WAY too low. after snooping around, the website is technically legal. what they provide is a copy of software that you should already own. there are contradictions between how the website sells these copies and the wording of the buyer's agreement... website FAQ: "...how do we offer this software at amazing prices? because we do not ship any of the manuals etc that add up to a large amount of the software price." buyer's agreement: "...you agree that you are already the legal owner of the software...etc..etc." they shift the illegal action on the buyer/pirateer and make $100 on a "copy" of course 99% of the people are looking for the software, not a copy of something they own... chuck
