danteprojetos
This is the inside view of the "virtual library" that is in my park post. I'm having a lot of trouble with this image, because I'm accostumed to do only bedrooms, kitchens and spaces that usually have only small openings in the walls. But this library have openings everywhere, including the floor, made in glass.. This is another problem, because I don't know how to control the GI.. The light comes, hits the floor, and instead of going about the entire room, it refracts and goes away .. I will post the settings! any help is very appreciated!! Thanks in advance
enigma
maybe u could replace the glass floor with a plain material and let it generate the GI and put the glass back on the final render.

danteprojetos
Dmitry, I pasted your settings and this are the results: It's way better, but how can I diminish the "grayness" of the image? and the noise? rendertime was 12:30 hs for a 1200x900px image. Thanks in advance !
TraP
danteprojetos, to remove grayness, U need highest subdives multyplay on all VRlights for example when light MP is 2, subdives 16-18 if area is big, then SB MP 35. usual it helps but 12h rendering.. it's too long... it should thakes max 2,5h.. try lower reflection on the floor and that "metal" on reception... U need change it.. try reflect colour 130.130.130 Glossines 0.97 check interpolation and Reflect interpolation min/max (or max/min, I don't remember ) is -3/-1 I hope it helps U
Da_RoCk
i think the environment is taking all the ambient lighting in the scene. Try to overwrite the environment in max, this will help you control the GI brought by your Sky. Or an easier alternative would be putting a separate environment for your materials so that you wont have problem with your background. On the other hand, try copying the bmp map into a blank slot and set the wrapping to cylindrical. i think it is set to screen. In addition;from your GI settings, i think you are using a linear exposure. if you are going to use those values, i suggest that you change it to exponential exposure rather than linear. That is i think why you have such saturated colors. Are you using RPCs? if you are then try to lower the self illumination value of the RPCs to a MIN of 0-10. and also turn on the shadows if you want... danteprojetos
TrAp > I tried this settings, and it helped with the rendertime, I managed to go down to 8 hours per image.. I will try to meddle with things to see if I can lower it even more! Thanks a LOT! Da Rock > I tried to change to exponencial exposure but the image became too dark. What can i change in the exponencial exposure rollout to make it better? I tried to lower the self-illumination parameter in the rpc's, and it became much better. Thanks!!!! Ricardo Eloy
Well, Dante, I think the main problem here is that you have to decide wether you want to see inside or outside your building. In real life, you would have a bright set of windows in your picture in order to see what's indoors. Use some glow to give that effect. Also, please, please, get rid of those RPCs! They do nothing but ruin your pics!
danteprojetos
I know what you mean Rick. Because of the external environment, It always oscilates between darker and brighter of what it is supposed to be. What kind of light should I use to achieve this glow effect? And i wish I could dismiss the RPC's, but the client wants people inside and I don't know any other people package other than rpc's. I heard that low poly people are good. Are they really worth the $$$? Thanks in advance.
