Matt Sugden
Hi there, does any body know of a way to slice a face of an object using a complex shape, or a curve spline rather than just a simple straight line? I'm trying to use this technique for creating material ids for a landscape using a simple box, referencing the layout of an autocad file. OR Is it possible to attach a spline to the face of an object, so that the attached spline can then be extruded as part of the object (I know it is possible to attach a spline, however it never seems to act as part of the object when for instance if a negative extrusion is done it doesn't leave a hole in the object)? Woody
Try using the shape merge command which is in Max 7. There should be info on this in the help index. Shout if you need any help.

Matt Sugden
Tried it today, Excellent!!! out of interest, when I merged the spline with a box, the operand appeared as the spline shape on the top of the box, rather than the bottom, which is where it was originally positioned, have you any ideas why this might be? Thank you guys.....
