Noise
Hi max doesn't allow me to group certain items in a scene, why would that be? The scene comprises basic elements from Acad, others have been created in max, no major animation etc.. happening. The problem is that I cannot scale all the elements in correspodence as they have their pivot points in different places, usually grouping would prevent this from happening. any help, much appreciated n
Victor Erthal
Also you can change the pivot mode (right beside the grid mode "view") from "pivot point center" to "use selection center". Check if the objects are already grouped o any groups opened in the scene too. Just to explain a little better, from left to right: move tool, rotate, scale, grid mode, pivot mode. Onslaught
did you file link your model from autocad? if so, then that's why you can't group.
Noise
sorted ! thanks for your replies it seems strange but when I went to group the geometry, the option to group was greyed out but the Close option was there so, once that was pressed the elements were back to normal. I think the reason is that the grouped geometry was opened but not closed again and for some reason max doesn't like this. thanks N
