pradipta
HI, from my recent project. modeled in 3dsmax6 and rendered in vray. waiting to see comments, thanks http://3dbuzz.com/vbforum/attachment.php?attachmentid=40755/skylitLobbyFinal2.jpg thanks for your time,
Tim Nelson
Nice one! I would straighten out those verticals though - add a camera correction modifier. I might also strengthen those interior lights too because now, it looks like they are on, but you don't see any light on the walls that they are next to. Oh, and I think those chairs look really weak comared to the rest of the scene. You need something with a little more mass.

pradipta
i would like to receive feedbacks on what else can i add to bring more realism or any advice in the field of lighting and material setup would be helpful a lot.
paredes
I like your scene, great job. Like Tim said, the furniture is weak and I think it will be better to add something (more furniture perhaps) to give your scene some scale. Good luck!
vertexART
Very nice render man, great job! I agree with others about the chairs and about adding more furniture for the scale. Also, add some plants or some kind of indoor foliage, it will complement nicely with your dominant red. Cheers
pradipta
paredes: thanks a lot. i will add some more furnitures and perhaps some people in the scene. i hope that'l bring more realism in the picture vertexART: yes, i will add that in my next render. i like the red color and i think it blends here nicely. thank you for your time

dexter
Hello pradipta, all I can say is your work is very nice...I can't suggest anything though, because you're much better than me...hehehe... Good luck...
William Alexander
The reflections are too clean on the floor, falloff?-minimal bump map to distort-maybe mask the reflections with a 'grunge' map.... just something to break them up a bit WDA
Tim Nelson
I'm telling you, those verticals make it look way too sloppy. Just take 20 seconds to fix that and your rendering will be 100% better. And I agree about the reflections. They looked better in your very first version.
mwhite
Very nice render and modeling. I liked the sunlight washing on the floor ALOT better in version 2. Version 3 has a hot spot sitting in the middle of a very dark floor now. I would change your sun back to the previous position. I agree on the reflections, again version 2 was better than 3. However version 3 is much better without the poeple and chairs. I would put alot of people walking along the top of the stairway in the background. Looking forward to another update. AJLynn
I agree with Tim - the camera has a slight upward angle making it a 3-point perspective, which really only looks good if you're using it for a reason, make the camera horizontal and it will improve the image. Other than that you're in pretty good shape, only a few things to clear up. The floor reflections are a little odd, especially the reflections of the 2 windows in the back. There are also a couple lighting issues, take these with a grain of salt: I don't quite agree with the way light is falling on the bit of wall above the... trash can? Is that from spot lights in the soffit? It's distracting. Also, the high balcony looks like it has a very low ceiling and it's pretty dark up there. And I think that the columns on the left could be casting shadows on the floor.
CHE
Nice lighting Pradipta. As Tim and AJLynn said, you need to correct your perspective. Your vertical lines should be parallel. Make sure to spend some time in Photoshop correcting leves, color and saturation. I took the liberty to experiment with your rendering in Photoshop (see attached image). I hope you don't' mind. pradipta
thanks a lot for all the valuable comments, CHE: thanks a lot for your observation and that retouch work. it will really help me a lot to better the output. AJLynn: thanks. i will consider those points that you mentioned for my next render. mwhite: thanks. nelso: ok. i will try to fix those vertical windows wda: i will use some bump map in my next render dexter: thanks. but thses is still a lot aspect for improvement thanks you so muc for all the great feedback,
pradipta
nelson: what shape do you think ill look better, i choosed this one after i saw such a design in a magazine. any advice will be nice. thanks
Tim Nelson
I still think your first image had the most potential - mostly because of the nice light coming in from the sun position. I spent a few minutes with it too, just to see what would happen. Your lighting is really excellent, so just keep working with it. You misunderstand me when I say 'correct the verticals'. I'm not talking about the windows at all, but rather the effect that comes when your camara and target are at different levels. You see how me and Che have straightened out the walls - most noticeable at the very left side? That's all I'm talking about.
pradipta
tim: i got your point. thanks. i will correct that in my next render. i have change my camera angle, that is doing the most ruin, i think. looking nice with those people above, i will make these changes soon. do you like the placement of the chairs, plants and the signpost in the new render? thanks for being there,
Tim Nelson
do you like the placement of the chairs, plants and the signpost in the new render? The signpost, yes. The plant & the chairs, not so much. The chairs in the first version were even better than these I think. You need something bigger, maybe like a long, contemporary sofa. The plant is ok, but it doesn't have much impact compared to the rest of the scene and is a little distracting.
pradipta
tim: may be i have increase the height of the plant and make it more near the cameara, or in the left side near the left wall. sofa, ok. i think a pale yellow olored sofa will look suitable in this scene/
reddy
really nice rendering. The scale is hard to perceive tho. The use of the two silhouetted people at the top of the stairs looked good but i'd love to see you try and really fill the space with people. maybe I'm wrong and its a space which would never be busy but I'd love to see a time delay style shot which has the blurred effect of people moving through the lobby. the presence of one or two people seems quite weak like the chairs in the original rendering. Other than that tho its a really good rendering. good luck
