P.R.S. Sivakumar .
Hello everybody Upgradation costs of AutoCAD / Autodesk products, buying additional licenses etc. here in India are prohibitively high. One can even go bankrupt buying and maintaining these. Is IntelliCAD a good alternative? I do not see any users in this forum using IntelliCAD based cad programs. If one is not keen on advanced features, fancies and frills or even 3D, is it a useful enough software? Does it cause many errors? We have found that saving large files extremely slow. Any advise on this will be extremely useful. A major group of Architects/Engineers in my city would like to migrate from Autodesk to IntelliCAD based programs. I deliberately did not post this in IntelliCAD forums. I would like to have opinions from experts in this forum. Thanks in advance PRSS
lambros
Hi there, I have posted again in the past about Intellicad. I bought the standard edition for around 100 euros, which is really really cheap. Actually, I do not use it for cad design, just reading dwg files, and cleaning them up to prepare them for import in 3d applications. I could not afford to pay a fortune to do that job with Autocad! The only apparent disadvantage is the slow viewport navigation, but perhaps the pro edition (which offers 3d) is better. Not many architects and civil engineers use it here in Greece, but I have heard no complains. Perhaps someone who uses it for design work could comment more on the subject
