dexter
This is my new project... I modeled it using Microstation J. I have a problem with my gutter & mouldings, they went missing when I imported them in max, only the upper & lower rims remain...I made a profile of the mouldings using a combination of circles & lines and then extruded them...don't know what went wrong here...anybody knows what happen here?... Thanks...

enigma
nice work dre...i'm not sure if there's a modifier in microstation which acts the same way as the "Normal" Modifier in max....it flips faces in the opposite direction...kipidap!!!

woolsgrove
Either flip normals in MS (or Max) or force double sided. Remember that mirroring object in MS flips their normals, a bit of a bug/pain. Richard
Parker1
Rememer, NO SURFACES IN MS...that includes B-Splines. You want to use only solids to bring over to MAX. Turn on 2-Sided as indicated to fix it or go back to MS and covert the gutter to a "smart-solid". Also watch your use of the mirror comand in MS...I know it is a pain to try and avoid it, but it will cause a flipped normal in MAX and cause this problem. Good Luck... woolsgrove
Brian, I don't have trouble bringing in surfaces. Granted I've had the odd problem from time to time with them and I agree that solids are more stable, but they don't need to be avoided.
