recon
Irritating, isn't it! I had the same problem with a gigabit connection, not sure what speed you're running at. My solution was to plug the cable into a regular 10/100base port on my router instead of the gigabit connection. Not much of a solution, but that's what I've settled for in the meantime. Tuninho Prieto
I had the same issue at office. Usually the problem is a bad cable.(or contact) The connection goes on and off all the time, and you can´t access the network Probably you moved the cable or the computer, and fixed the bad contact. If it happens again, try another net cable.
Greg Hess
Laptop? Sometimes the laptop puts the ethernet jack into power saving mode, which shuts it off. You can disable this function by going into device manager, properties on the ethernet card, and turn off the section that says "allow computer to shut off device to save power". Though I doubt thats the reason, its at least a start.
quizzy
I think it was a defect in one of the cables.. I must admit that my switch fell down last week... Ah well its working again... pfew..
