Damyanov
Hi guys, I am importing a DWG in 3D MAX. I have to render some lines. I put the renderable option of the line, but in the render window it looks more with circle section than with rectangular. It seems to be ... oversmoothed. Where can i found the way to make it to look right? Thank you all in advance!!!
Fredi bd
try to export it as 3ds and then import it again as 3ds inside 3Dmax. cheers, Fredi
Chad Warner
apply a meshsmooth modifier, then a smooth modifier on top of it. It will "un-smooth" it for you. Either that, or convert the thing to an editable mesh.

Munz
In the latest version of Max, you have the option, when rendering a line to choose between a circle or rectangular line render. under the line rendering options. Not sure which version this began in. munz
molson
-Change the sides in the rendering rollout of the line to 4 -change the angle in the rendering rollout of the line to 45 -Apply an edit poly or edit mesh modifier -Apply a smooth modifier
enigma
select a line...then on the rendering rollout...check renderable and display render mesh...on the set the "sides" to 4, and the "angle" to 45...that should make a perfectly square line render apply a smooth modifier then uncheck everything in the mod.....works in all versions of max he he he
abicalho
Another option is to apply a Lattice Modifier to the mesh (not to the splines). Lattice will create Tubes where the visible edges are, allowing you to quickly create cool models.
