Tim Saunders
any thoughts on why it is completely black inside the front window here? i have like 8 photometric 75watt free point lights inside the room. the glass is a standard material, 2 sided, opacity of 30, specular-45, glossiness-65, reflection-30 with fallof/raytrace valued at 60. Crazy Homeless Guy
more info... software, render engine, ect... ...are you normals flipped towards the interior?
Tim Saunders
staight viz 2005 scanline. it shouldn't matter if normals are flipped if it is a 2 sided material should it? the glass is only an extruded line, no depth to it.
Crazy Homeless Guy
if you turn off the glass, does the inside render lit?
Tim Saunders
i don't even see the lights if the winsow is deleated. i checked and the lights are turned on. maybe i just need to use a different light. i'm stumped.
Crazy Homeless Guy
do photometric lights work with scanline?
Tim Saunders
do photometric lights work with scanline? yeah. i'm using radiosity too. i just made a new glass material and applied it, reset the radiosity and it rendered fine. something was funky with the material. thanks everyone. Brian Cassil
Can you post an update Tim?
Tim Saunders
Can you post an update Tim? yeah, still not finished, but i'm passed the glass problem (for now). I may play with the reflectancy and opacity once i get some more background type stuff in the reflection. i think it may be a bit too reflective now. we'll see. STRAT
really the key to nice looking glass is to have some sort of internals modelled and lit showing through. else you just got a dark mirror there.
