I just bought a brand new laptop with almost the exact same specs (except the HD...only 100 Gb... Good luck! thanks. I'm moving to Lebanon when my visa expires. I sent my family all the money I saved, and they're looking for a small appartment for me and the family...So now I'm broke again...When I came here to the states I had nothing. I had a few hundred bucks. hopefully I will be a homeowner soon. It was really hard especially the loneliness away from the family, but at least here they give you a chance to prove yourself. thanks, Ihab
cdos00
Wow, so sudden. I am sorry to hear that you have to leave when your visa expires. I am a little encouraged by your statement that you will be a homeowner soon. That is great to hear! Are you going to be on the boards still? Will you have access to software to enable you to continue modeling?? Well best of luck to you good sir. Chris.

ihabkal
Ihab is Dar El Handasa a good place to work since you're from Lebanon ? I'm so happy my family got the appartment, I'm going to laugh and laugh.... I' also worked for Dar El Handassah in Cairo for a year. I worked for all sorts of people, I worked for extremely large firms, extremely small firms, medium firms, Dar El handassah, the Architecture division in the Army, as a freelancer, I have been working non stop since graduation. I had a really bad experience at Dar. I was engaged and didn't have a house or anything, and you're from my community you know it's strange that her parents agreed on me while I was a student. I went to Dar and had a meeting, gave them my student samples. After a few days they offered me a job in Cairo. they let me borrow an appartment. they offered me $700/month. I was just finished with my 1 year mandatory army service, I had a wife and no house if you know what I mean, and after 3 years of engagment I was banging my head to every wall in Beirut of frustration, so I said yes and left to Egypt. In there I worked for a boss who made me work till 1:00 after midnight and on weekends without overtime pay. Everyday he changed the entire project. He was mean, and if I worked late and was late in the morning for half an hour he would do mean things and threaten to fire me, then pile all sorts of work on my back. He was one of the worst employers I ever worked for. mean words, and he said I had an attitude. He stillhaunts my dreams and frustrates me. I introduced 3d studio max to their 5000 employees firm, improved the quality of the renderings, all his architects wanted me to do their renderings and piled on more work on me. My first project there was half done when he sent it to a senior in Beirut (Robert Koueik) to give me grades and comments without telling me. their renderings were all pink walls all of them it's like they don't know any other materials. pink walls for airports, for residential towers, for retail offices, everything is pink for them... Then my wife was left all alon in the house day and night. My honeymoon was me working all day and night and my wife depressed all day and night. and then I was 1/2 an hour late one day so he threatened me so I sent to american firms until I landed a job and spent all my money on a plane ticket and left. How much can you save out of a 700/month in one year. By the way we wanted to leave the house they offered us because we heard someone died in our bed (all the furniture was 10 years old), and they said my base salary was $500 and the other $200 was to pay the bills of the house. and they said they would take that away if I moved. Dimitri Batikha I remember told me that. Dar El-handassah...the bad memories....It was less than a year, bt the bad stories could cover 10 years. by the way this year, 2005, I heard all 3D renderers quit Dar, Maged, Salah, Ahmed and me. we all left. this is a proof of their ill treatment to their employees. Well i'm sorry to hear that i was kind of planning to work there after graduation as a friend of mine is now training with them and he tells me alot of good stuff about them ,he also said that someone called Ibrahim something he's the head of some department (actually i cant remember his full name nor the department) helps him alot and that he's a good person , he also mentioned that one day Maged visited them and the other employees were excited , he's too good right ? ihabkal
Ibrahim? my director was Joseph Hajjar maybe he's in a different department? Majed Samir worked there after I left. he got the machine I was working on. You kinda get a connection when you use the same machine for a long time... we chat and e-mail each other sometimes. he quit dar in a short time...The employees at Dar except managment, were some of the nicest people I met. They had limited income, yet they invited me out into their homes, they took me on tourist tours, they treated me like their son. I was sick they took care of me and one of them took me to the doctor, I loved them very much. I was really hurt to get separated from them. but I was so mistreated by Joe (Joseph) I had to quit... thanks, Ihab
