maxwell render for C4d

Recommended Posts

I haven't tried it (yet - C4d is one of the things on my agenda to learn this summer) but I can see from their download page that it's available to Maxwell customers, and I've seen a lot of renders that people have done in it (and they're very good) - look at the Maxwell site's forum for C4d users and you'll get an idea of the status of the software - it's still in beta so there are still some parts that don't work correctly.

BTW, C4d users - is it worth my while to learn C4d this summer? (They have a trial download, I keep hearing that it's good and easier for a lot of things than Max, and this kind of thing always tempts me...)

I'e visited the maxon forums and was impress with the gallery, but there seems to be alot of bugs in the software maybe due to the fact that its a beta..!

Anyway for the experience ones out there is there a big difference in the rendering quality using the maxwell engine in C4d..i think C4d has a powerful engine already!! Does MR give you a more realistic render?

What do U all think,,,,

Nooxy

I'm just downloading the plugin to test out my self.

I bought eight licences of Maxwell. I really like where its going. But it isn't there yet. Unfortunately the product is not ready yet for production, but that's the way beta software is. I bought into it because I have faith in what the release version will do, and the pre-release price was really low compared to what v1.0 will cost.

You CAN use MWR rigt now with Cinema. I is missing some features, but it does work. If you never used Lightscape it will require you to think in a new way, so plan on a learning curve. Using the beta is a good time to do that. Now if you have used Lightscape its a welcome return to sanity.

Just be aware--right now the MWR usergroup is verging on the religeous.

Also--there MAY be a new version of the Cinema Advanced Renderer released soon--I'm hoping at SIGGRAPH. Though no-one has made any definative statements.
