long_cg
Hi to all, I hv a newbie question that i need advice wats the rendering setting for a output of A1 size(approx 90cm by 60 cm) printout of good quality. Is 4000 by 3000 pixels @ 72 dpi good enough? thks
shan
Hi, Usually the render setting for print out varies depending on the Paper Size. For A1 size paper @ 150 dpi the render setting would be 4966 x 3507 pixels, which would be a better quality. But some times you could use 100 dpi since not always you would observe a A1 size print very close to it but at a decent distance which would not require greater than 100 dpi print resolution. If you are using 3ds max, there's a handy useful option " Print Size Wizard" which gives the freedom to feed the paper size and optional dpi value to which the render size in pixels is automatically calculated. shan
long_cg
thks, did a render at 4500 x 3000 pixels @300dpi. think thats is overdone rite?
ecastillor
nope...overdone would be anything over 300 dpi...other than that, the larger the better if you have the time
ecastillor
i meant 4500x3000 is the pixel size, and thats equal to 90x60 @ 127 dpi...so, it could improve.... a 90x60 @ 300dpi would be 10630x7087....a little over the top.
STRAT
in theory, 4000x3000@72 dpi is a bit low, but in practice i think you'll find it more than acceptable try it depends what the finished output is intended for. we print out A1 colour prints rendered at 2000x1500@72 dpi, and size them up in photoshop. they're suprizingly crisp and nice.
