AJLynn
Here are a lot of thoughts on it: Is this exactly the same as the problem you were having before? Before it sounded like it was crashing right when it stared rendering but now it sounds like it renders for a few minutes then crashes. Is it a few minutes, an hour, or inconsistent, could happen any time during the render? Did you check out what Mike and I said before about possible CPU overheating? Is your heatsink properly seated, is the CPU fan running flawlessly, is there anything obstructing airflow? (Like the new Quadro card being in the way of the airflow to the CPU fan, or maybe an IDE cable that got moved during installing?) Does it make any kind of sound or give any kind of warning before crashing or does the computer just turn off? Do you have other things you can run that will make the CPU usage go to 100% or eat a lot of memory... if you can make it crash by manipulating huge files in Photoshop it might be damaged memory. If you can make it crash by running something like Seti@Home or that program that cures cancer in the background it might be CPU overheating. Any luck on getting a CPU temperature reading? Is the computer a Dell or from some other manufacturer that can give you a diagnostic utility that will do a thorough RAM test? Have you called tech support at Discreet, or your hardware manufacturer(s)?
