Tango
Hi, I just installed a new Pentium 4 PC with 2.8 Ghz Processor speed and 1Gb Ram. The Motherboard is a Intel D865GBF with integrated Video and Audio. Since I already had a PNY Quadro 750XGL in my "old" PC I just wanted to install it in the new P4. The computer starts to act strange so I decided to deactivate the Onboard Video device. This feature is not supported via bios since Intel specified an "auto select" primary video card. I have already upgraded de bios but nothing better happens. Now I am stucked with an expensive Quadro card wich I can not install and a poor video performance using the onboard video. I emailed a S.O.S to Intel but the response was a link to a FAQ list. Does anyone has experienced the same problem? ANY help will be VEEEERY appreciated!! Thanks in advance!! DapperDanJelly
I know about this problem. You will find links in google if you write "hp 750 xgl driver bios". This link is an example : http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/evoworkstation/us/download/14438.html This will update the VGA bios in order for XP to accept recent drivers like probably the one you have. Exemple : detonator 45.28, good for performance and stability under xp using 3dsmax, Viz, Acad ...
DapperDanJelly
More, if you are experiencing driver problems, there is an util. to properly uninstall Nvidia driver, clean the windows .cab and reinstall any driver you have. Greg Hess
Also check on the motherboard (and in the manual) for a disable jumper. Sometimes the bios won't have a disable feature, but the motherboard itself will have a jumper which can swap between onboard and AGP/PCI video.
