Aaron2004
Hey all, I'm starting some brochures and need some feedback. This image took me an afternoon to make (texturing, lighting, rendering, post processing). The Model was already available. Is an afternoon more than the average amount of time it takes to do these things? I'm sure I will get faster once I get a material library set up in max and get a pattern down. The first image is out of Max (rendered in Mental Ray with a directional light and a skylight. It took about 1/2 hour to render). The 2nd image is after I fixed it up in photoshop. The foliage is from Marlin Studios. 2 Things I don't like about it but don't know if it's woth fixing: The flat shingle texture on the roof and the flat/matte looking trim over the garage door. Also, do you think that the windows need better reflections? Thanks!
Tim Saunders
good start. yeah an afternoon, maybe a few hours if it's allready modeled. good lighting. i agree with your complaint about the shingles and the material above the garage. do you have a bump map on the shingles? and for the part above the garage, just model the boards framing the panels a bit deaper. the asphalt driveway isn't that complimenting to the house. put in a concrete driveway with control joints. the facia looks a bit flat. a simple drip edge around all the white faces will add a lot of depth.
