HP dual Xeon refurbs?

Does anyone know about the quality of HP dual Xeon workstations, refurb or new?

In comparison to Dell, Boxx, Alien, Monarch and others, HP seems similar.

In particular I'm looking at the Refrub'd xw6000 1x2.4 ghz Xeon, 2x512 pc2100 ddr ram, 36 gig scsi, nvidia 980xgl, dvd, win xpp- $1,199 - add on a second 2.4 Xeon-$249 (self install) - plus 19" monitor - 1 yr warranty -shipped for $1664.70.

Comparing it to the others is seems like a solid deal, but does HP turn out a decent workstation class system?

I am currently using an HP 6000 as we speak. It is a very solid system and I have had no problems with it at all. dual 2.6ghz, 1024mb ram, 36gig scsi, 200gb ide, 980xgl, dvdrw, cdrw, xpp. And If I remember right they ran about 5gs new, I want to say a year and a half ago.

 

We also use dual 21"ers on them.,looks lovely.

 

good system and that is a REALLY good deal. If I may ask where did you get it from?

Just check the current list, but you have to call for confirmation and order. A little archaic, but it works. Last word was they had about 10 of each type of workstation on the list.

I wish I could buy more.
