MegaPixel
The attached image shows a Dining Room/Living Room Shot Illuminated by 1 Daylight System. One half of the the house (the Dining Room Side) looks great. I need help getting more subtle ambient light to poor in from the opposite side of the house to create more natural lighting in the Living Room. The Daylight Sys. uses Standard Light (mult. 96 k) and Skylight (mult 1). I have Log. Exp. Ctrl on with 40 Brt. - 60 Cnt. - 1000 energy. abicalho
There are a couple options: 1. Tweak Exposure Control 2. Increase Reflectance of your materials (Make the "V" in HSV higher) 3. Fake it using an Ambient-only omni-light Hope this helps,
enigma
same suggestions here, add some fill lights where the scene is darkest...
MegaPixel
All of the rooms on the Daylight System side look decent for now so I don't want to mess with the material or exposure control. I guess my best option is fill lighting. Thanks to both of you for the quick replys.
MegaPixel
Ok I have another question along the same lines in a different part of the house. The attached image is a Regathered image of the Family/Kitchen area. As you can see, there are dark areas on the furniture furthest from the light source (1 Daylight System). To remedy this, do I have to flood the scene with more light energy from the Sun by upping it's multiplier, do I up the multiplier for the Skylight alone or both. The Rad solution is at 25% Qual. - 1 Refinement (1:45:00 for solution) - Globally meshed at 4 inches - 2 Indirect Filter - 1 Direct Filter - ReGather Rays 250 - ReGather Filter Rad. 2.5. 1 Daylight System for the exterior light source (Standard Light and Skylight) - Sunlight Multiplier 96 - Skylight Multiplier 1. Thanks in advance for the coaching - Mega
vertexART
Hi there Mega, what's the story on the right on the last image? Are there any windows behind which U cannot see but use as a light source? I'd go with that, even if U need to fake. Also, those look like default gray mats, try changing to brighter colors. Besides that, U can try lowering the sun shadow density to around 0.8 Your directly lit surfaces seem washed out already, so you shouldn't increase the multiplier anymore, IMHO. You should decrease the settings at this stage also, render takes too long. Hope it helps, Cheers
abicalho
Make sure Ambient and Diffuse Color are locked and are the same. It seems like they are not, causing the "Black" material syndrome. Hope it helps,
