Wokka
Has anyone managed to find a fix for this continuing problem? My machine worked fine till I decided to upgrade. My brand new box has everything loaded but now I can't save the ArchiCad 3D as a ac4d file. My reseller has sent my issues (and a few others I think) off to Maxon, though he hasn't heard back yet. So far my only choose is to upgrade to 10 just to get the link working! This is as annoying as the MaxonForm issue.
boacon
Hi Warwick, I still have the problem of not being able to export from archicad 10 to c4d. I was in touch with maxon support late last year and early this year but they weren't able to help at all. Luckily I still have archicad 9 loaded and can save my 10 file as version 9 then export from there (although some objects don't transfer to version 9 and have to be exported separately as a 3ds file). Uninstalling archicad and reinstalling does not work for me and I've tried it on 4 PC's. You say it worked on archicad 10 on your old PC but not on your new PC? What are your PC spec's for your old and new machines? I mentioned earlier that my local archicad reseller got it to work on his 32 bit PC but not on his new 64 bit PC. Maybe there is some common ground here? My cinema reseller (adimex/digistor) told me that they are aware of only 2 people in Aus and NZ with this problem. Do you buy from them or someone else? cheers Steve S
Wokka
Steve, No, I bought from Digistor and there are now 3 people in AUS and NZ with the problem I really don't want to have to install ArchiCad 9 onto the new machine as well as 10 just in the hope that I can export as a *.ac4d file. (Really expensive plugin...) Both my machines are 32 bit, with AMD chips. Fairly similar machines just one with more RAM and bigger cpu. There certainly seems to be some sort of issue here with the plugin. We were going to test the C4DR10 plugin but it will be looking for a C4DR10 installation, so we may try it running in demo mode. This at least would confirm where the issue is. Cheers
boacon
Well the great news (for me at least) is that I have got the add-on working. My cinema reseller (adimex/digistor) sent me a link to a microsoft download which maxon told them had helped some other people out with the same problem. here is the link ... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32BC1BEE-A3F9-4C13-9C99-220B62A191EE&displaylang=en As I say it has solved my problem (hopefully hasn't raised any others) whether it will solve other people's problems I don't know. Warwick, you may have got the email from digistor already, I hope it solves things for you. Steve
Wokka
Steve, Yes I'm a happy camper again! I didn't sleep very well last night with deadlines looming. I heard you were dancing on the phone to Nigel Looks like 3 must have been the critical mass to get Maxon to look closer at he problem. Happy rendering. boacon
That's excellent news Warwick. Yeah I was fairly pleased to have this sorted. I thought it was odd that the issue be fixed so soon after your posting here - I figured you must be a louder grizzler than I am. I wonder how long maxon had been sitting on the solution for. They must have lost my contact details eh? Steve
Wokka
Yes Steve it is a bit funny that after several months of quiet, we get an answer a few hours after my problem went out. Must by the huge influence I have as a one-man-band-working-from home. They were probably shaking with worry that I might jump ship and they'd lose their $300 upgrade Cheers
