odd places to find your work

Recommended Posts

While in San Francisco we wandered into the SF Istitute of Art (mostly to see their Diego Rivera mural) which had an exhibit gallery with a show of Scott Williams work . He works with positive vs negative images using airbrush frisket masks. Interesting stuff.

What surprised me was finding one of his pieces that was taken from a clipart entourage image from my father's book--that I drew. Weird! "Hey", I said, "I drew that!"

Nothing wrong with it--I'm used to seeing stuff I drew in other people's renderings--just not on the wall of an art gallery.

So the line is:

line drawing by me

book by my father

enlargement, art by Scott Williams

my surprise

photo by my son Kyle (includes other son, Luke, in picture)

What goes around comes around, I guess.

Hey, I thought you were old!

How dare you call Fran old!

Oh, you meant me? Remember, I'm the taller one. Old, I am. Render, many years I have. Stop this, I will.

Unlike seeing work on another site (which has happened to me, too) this art is on the up-and-up. Just weird to turn around and see.
