shan
its really a neat render. although you claim you are new to vray, but the renders don't seem to. ! guess bit of working with color mapping is required to brighten the room. and to me the floor looks highly reflective..is that intentional? keep posting more.. tks shan. dexter
Hello Shan!...thank you very much for your reply...I really appreciate it... Yes, I still consider myself as new in Vray. This is my second attempt in using it in an interior scene. Actually I can say I'm still new in this 3d stuff and I always regret not starting younger... Right now I'm not working as a 3d renderer or modeller, my job is on 2d drafting using microstation/autocad, we're building underground MRT here in Singapore. I find my job very boaring, I feel sick when everyone around me knows what I am doing, that is 2d drafting, I want to be different from them. This is the reason why I began doing some 3d. I've been practicing alot during my free time. I hope I would be able to find a job in 3d business because I love this 3d thing. But sad to say, whenever I look into some ad job in 3d, they're always looking for someone with 2 to 3 years experience...I guess I wont find a job in 3d if they are always like that...hehehe...anyway, I'll keep doing 3d untill someone find my works good enough for them to hire me even though I luck any real projects experience. Oh, about my floor being very reflective, actually, that is intentional...what is color mapping anyway?...don't know that???? Here are some more images...I hope you guys can say something so that I can improve them further more... Thanks alot...

enigma
i don't think this is done by a newbie....he he he...these renders are very neat. one tip shadows from the sun don't look very sharp on interiorsit has some kind of a softness around its edges, but nonetheless that is a great start...keep it up! IC
A Vray room. Is that where one should go to carry out some Vray? Nice lighting if a little bit dim.
Larry Zasitko
Great images and you can't really be a newb :-) Only a couple little things, I too find it a little dim. The teapot looks too big. With the style of the table you would not seat people at the ends, they can't get close to their food :-) I like the tile to have a shine to to it, adds depth. I like the wood grains that you are using in the tables and on the floor. Post more, very well done. Larry
bricklyne
Nice lighting control; even though a bit dark as others have pointed out. I really like the Japanese dining arrangement ( the second option), but that's just because it looks more intimate to me. I would also reduce the reflectivity and essentially the glossines value of the floor, in particular the wood-tile floor. Although you have said it is intentional, for wood-finished floors and typically varnished or polished floors, it just doesn't read as a natural luster, at least not as much as it does in the other stone-tiled floor. But that's just my personal opinion. Nice start though.

Thanks again guys...
IC
It has been mentioned before but it's quite difficult to sift through the threads you found interesting and those you didn't when they're all called very similar things. There must be hundreds of 'Vray room' threads now.
