AJLynn
Bet that's the first time that subject line has appeared. I think this one's just about done. It's for a small print (6.5"x5"), original is 1300x100, intended to show space and daylight. It's my first try at Sketchup-to-Maxwell, with some post in Photoshop. Comments would be weocome. chuck
huh. maxwell NPR. that is interesting... why is it "NPR"? just because you wanted to focus on the lighting, or because you didnt have time to finish it? when i hear NPR i think of someone trying to make it look less harsh and more "painterly"...but you have combined mass modeling with accurate (read: photorealistic) lighting. i'm confused...and i'm not ragging on you. it's interesting...but maybe not the right terminology. maybe maxwell light study is a better word. it wouldn't take much to lay in some carpet and a ceiling texture, ad you'd have a photorealistic image. anyway... i'd would focus on getting the noise down first...more time and samples. how many samples did it reach, and at what time? it would be cool to see a few 3d ppl in there, with no maps, just white to see the light bounce off them. anyway...hope that helped. chuck
Ricardo Eloy
Guess I'll go with Chuck on this. It's not exactly NPR imo too. The fact you used mass modeling and some shadow people doesn't make it NPR. Still, it's a nice approach to Maxwell, different from what we've seen so far. But I really would like to see how well Maxwell can go for real NPR.
AJLynn
Point taken, I'll call this one something else and work on my Maxwell some more - I think Maxwell's got a lot of potential for illustration, design and analysis.
