drabin
Hello, I was hoping to find some help here. What would be the cause of a very mottled, spotted looking material result from vray. It only occurs on some objects and not others which leads me to believe that it is not part of the GI. It is not UVW Mapping either or materials, because when overide materials is checked it still occurs. Any suggestions... As well, with vray to provide fill lights is it best to use the vray light, standard directional or spot light, or photometrics. i am lighting an outdoor scene and want to keep it somewhat dark simulating evening. My method thus far has been GI, plus low directional light for sun/moon/ then fill lights, but my resluts are not great. I am also looking to add a yellowish glow from the interior through glass and have been using the vray light. This is a lot but any help would be great, and I will try to get some images up ASAP. Thanks a lot.
JamesTaylor
post some sample images it'll help us give suggestions, if you don't think its GI quality, or UVW related have you check that you havn't got duplicated / overlapping geomerty?
Gander0
Maybe more subdivisions in your vray material?

Tomas
What kind of VIZ and Vray version are you using? I'm not really sure, but I do have suspicion there is a bug in case VIZ2006 - Vray 1.47 combo. Just try convert Vray materials to Standart, and specialy in Multi/Sub Object materials. Tomas.
