archkre
I had to format my HDD, reinstalled XP pro slipstreamed w/ SP2 and when chose to add more windows components, the installation got my PC frozen at "Completing configuration of Management and monitoring tools! When I manually re-booted , it showed a blue fault screen very quick, impossible to read and went to the safe mode options. Choosing safe mode, it started boot-looping over and over! What should I do?
STRAT
what would i do? i'd start installing over again if i were you. install the basics, then go on from there. that way you can save your reg configuration to go back to if needs be before each extra install incase it messes up. ihabkal
this happened to me. installing over and over is just a waste of time. SP2 is NOT compatible with all configurations, especially some specific memory controllers. check Microsoft's website. revert to sp1. I had the exact same problem. What should I do? Use a digital camera to take a picture of the blue screen of death (BSOD), often these have error codes on them that you can search for in MS's online help - I had a very similar thing happen to me once and learned that I had faulty ECC RAM. archkre
Finally all that was due either to faulty HDD and/or bus! Changed both and voila!
