kalatheart
hie , the modeling is quite good , but i guess u should check out ur render params , use gi insetead of skylight.. i personally think using both skylight and global illumintaion togather is not much useful ,, try using one directional light with overshoot option and vray shadows .. n just turn on gi in the render params for vray . n ya if u have used displacement for the grass try tweaking the params in the modifier , it will give u a more realistic look, well best luck kamal

danteprojetos
Hi everybody, Enigma, I really like this overcast look, and I'm happy to know there are others that likes it as well. I'll post a sun coming from the front in the update just for comparison. Thanks!! ishpalsingh, Yes i used digimation speedtree. I'm beggining to think that I will move to xfrog though.. Vray and Speedtree don't like each other very much.. Thanks for the tip on the displacement and the people! I will fix that. kalatheart I never not used skylight on a vray rendering.. You gave an interesting suggestion, I will try those settings to see how it looks. I will fix the grass also!! Thanks a lot!! Strat, The client wanted lots of attics and then the architect designed this.. I didn't like it very much either, especially after making it ! It was a pain in the a%#! Ravenwoods, I will use a displacement map in the stone path! Thanks for the tip!!
STRAT
Strat, The client wanted lots of attics and then the architect designed this.. I didn't like it very much either, especially after making it ! It was a pain in the a%#! ! yes, the roof style does look a tad over crowded. but thats not what i meant. what i meant was about the roof cladding - the modelling looks all messed up in places. danteprojetos
Oh that !! Heheh This was a rush job that I had to do overnight, and I overlooked a lot of things.. You are right about the roof modelling, there are some places that are really bad looking.. I'll try to fix that for the portfolio version. This is an update only with the sun in a different position. I'd like to hear if you guys like it better this or with the sun coming from the back? Thanks! Jago_0108
What about adding some noise or texture to the wall paint, the main door needs a lot of work, i would think of changing the color in the roof. Hope the critics help.
Tim Saunders
new sun position looks uch better. helps give the much needed contrast. i still think you need some more contrast. it just looks pretty washed out, too brught and kindof cartoony. sometimes thats fine, but not when you have perfect photoreal humans in your image. take the earlier suggestions and play with your gi settings, maybe even you shadow perams and the intensity of the sun. if the sun was not quite as strong you wiould get more "dark highlights" (oxymoron, but you get the drift). the scene doesn't look overcast to me at all, more overexposed. get rid of those trees. Richard McCarthy
What is THAT ROOF thing? LOL! Besides the roof problem, Nice lighting, rendering. The foundation wall might need a little pavement all around, or have weep holes or vents. Because you don't see that kind of details, grass simply just don't come straight up to the wall like that without something like I just mention. You will have moisture, water seeping inside in no time, and noway to get them out, and next thing you know, your wall will crack, and something rotting under your floor etc. (or soil become moving.. LOL)
