AJLynn
You can model the tiles that cover the seams on most roofs of this type - a Google image search for italian roof tile gets a few useful hits, for example http://gladdingmcbean.paccoast.com/default.jsp?InstRegionProdLineID=10&ProductID=65&IRPLProdMenuID=232 - the 15-1 link on the page has a drawing. For the lower edge, I think the profile should be orthagonal within the UCS of the tile itself, not vertical to the ground, and there can be a gutter under it, but this is another fairly standard detail you can find on the web. The rest of it looks good - but usually these things come in mixed shades of terra cotta, not green.
bigroo
There is quite a good tutorial at http://www.cgarchitect.com/resources/tutorials/smoke3d/tutorial4.asp by smoke3dstudio which may offer a solution.
