Aaron2004
Hey all, I'm trying to get lighting down for exterior renders and I wanted to try radiosity a little bit...it's not coming out too well. There are 2 attached pictures. The first is the viewport preview of the solve, and the 2nd is the render. Why does the viewport look halfway promising, but the render is very dull? I'm using a direct light and a skylight. The same problem happens with mental ray also. The viewport is dark, but the render is very blown out...my mulitplier on my light is less than 1. If it goes any lower, I'm afraid that it won't even give me the shadows that I want. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Aaron
jucaro
Try tweaking your exposure controls. And also, use the architectural materials or the advanced lighting overide mat.
carlangas
Hi Aaron, I would suggest you try the light tracer instead of radiosity since LT is better suited for outdoor scenes. I've never seen decent looking exteriors done with radiosity...id love too see one though.
