I use Final Render. I am happy with it and by the looks of it, the Stage 2 will be pretty impressive.

It'll take a little time to learn, but there are some great tutorials that users have put together that pretty much walk you through the basics and give you settings that are applicable 99% of the time.

I'd also like to say that I've played with VRay some, not as enough to say that I 'know' it, but I've gone through a bunch of tutorials. Honestly, I cannot see why people say that it is easier to learn than fR, I actually found the opposite. I also did not see the speed, but that was probably due to the lack of knowledge. Could be my familiarity with fR, but I had expected things to be straightforward and they certainly weren't. Maybe Maxwell is like this, but it's too limiting at this point and Stage 2 seems to add another level.

I am happy with my purchase and am looking forward to Stage 2.

I used FR - like mbr said, I don't understand people saying that it is hard to use. For still renderings was fine however animating with FR was a little tricky, one would have to lock the solution every 10 frames or something in that manner, otherwise your lighting solution render different at different frames giving a strobe effect..
