AJLynn
I'm trying out VRay Free on Max6 with a model I brought in from Sketchup, to do an exterior in daylight. I have way too much light, I think ambient is on - but I can't find where to turn it off. I override Max environment or not, change the skylight multiplier, use logarhytmic exposure control or not, make all the Max environment settings black, even make a light (so Max turns off defaults) and put it where it can't cast light on anything - there's still ambient light in the scene. If this VRay were not free I could turn off Default Lights under Global Switches but I don't think VRay Free has Global Switches... This is truly bizarre. Anybody have suggestions? schmoron13
first off, what usually works for me is to create a light and turn it off. Second, Check your vray skylight multiplier. Make sure it's not set too high. Hope this helps
Ray
Also make sure your Exposure Control in not checked on. Oops, didn't read it fully. Nevermind.
AJLynn
Thanks, making one light and turning it off worked - I was actually happy to get an all-black render I wonder why I never needed that trick before...
