mbr
Just kidding (kind of). I thought the CGA competition was probably one the most inspiring things I've seen in this industry. I know I'll be making an effort to enter some, if only to learn more. But there was really some beautiful renderings - great stuff. Hat's off to Jeff and all the competitors (and sponsors - that was some great prizes). Thanks.

IC
I get inspiration from weird places. Sometimes I'm at a building or in a room and the light is a bit different from the norm. Or I see a similarly stand-out photograph. I find it hard to think of anything else till I get to my sketchbook or computer and have a go at recreating it. STRAT
design wise - Gaudi render wise - real life. i spend hours and hours looking at the complete simplicity of how nature lights a building and all it's details, and wonder "why the f*** does it take me hours to simulate that with any great degree of realism???" looking at how nature lights buildings and the environment is a MASSIVE inspiration for me. Tim Nelson
Architectural photography. I look at professional photographs and it inspires me to try to reach that level. I haven't gotten there yet, but it's fun trying. It's reassuring to know that anybody can go out and buy a top of the line camera, but it takes real skill and artistic sense to be able to make a great photo. So, no matter how advanced rendering software gets, there will be plenty of room for us renderers still. Ok, now I'm getting off topic.
