scooter
Hi everyone! As I promissed, I'm working on a fantasy train station. I don't have much time but I do my best to keep regular update. Situation : in the country side, around 1900, a small train station is expecting the daily train... My sketch :

Ernest Burden III
The first object that should lead the style of the scene I like the beginning images. Are you going to use the art nouveau style of the type and the lamp, or a more victorian look like the stations and your first 3D? I would go with the 'modern', myself. One thing that I hope you can capture in your piece is the funny way that those small, country train stations are almost an island, a fancy little building surrounded by not much. Its the opposite of a city station's site. Good start!
scooter
Thank you Ernest for this first comment... You've gessed right ! I am going for the Art nouveau style (hope I 'll have the time to built all the curvy stuff !)
mbr
Looks pretty cool. I'd suggest adding structure to the roof. That'd be a pretty big cantilever for back then (those thin pieces won't support anything in compression). Maybe some funky columns: http://www.cupola.com/html/bldgstru/artnouv/slide/vhort04e.htm http://www.cupola.com/html/bldgstru/artnouv/slide/tasse03e.htm Or a cool truss: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Dart%2Bnouveau%252C%2Bstructure%26ei%3DUTF-8%26fr%3Dslv1-&h=800&w=583&imgcurl=www.photofora.com%2Feugene%2Fohta%2Fbobridge%2Fimages%2Fpontohta8.jpg&imgurl=www.photofora.com%2Feugene%2Fohta%2Fbobridge%2Fimages%2Fpontohta8.jpg&size=162.5kB&name=pontohta8.jpg&rcurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.photofora.com%2Feugene%2Fohta%2Fbobridge%2Fpages%2Fpontohta8.htm&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.photofora.com%2Feugene%2Fohta%2Fbobridge%2Fpages%2Fpontohta8.htm&p=art+nouveau%2C+structure&type=jpeg&no=20&tt=61&ei=UTF-8 Gaudi would be a good study: http://www.pirieworld.ca/branchingcolumns.jpg looking forward to seeing the updates
scooter
I agree ! This is definitly too light , and the roof is a bit too long. I did this in five minutes too get some proportions right. So here we go! Thank you very much for these links "Mbr" ! I like these columns a lot! I will try that...
