mtb0506
hi j liz, to create an attribute in ADT, at the menu at the top do: draw-->block-->define attributes. this will create a text attribute for use in a block. repeat the process for multiple attributes. after all the attributes have been created, you can then create a block out of them using the "block" command. then simply insert this block into your drawing on top of the title block. OR, if you insert the title block as a BLOCK and not an XREF, you can simply add the attributes to your title block by creating them in the drawing file. hope that made sense. edri
Hi J Liz, I assume you know how to define attributes in Autocad. In this case, I'll make the text `JL Architects Property and for ........ copy only' first and then define an attribute (attdef) say with `verify' checked, tag:`client',prompt:`enter client's name' and value:`client name' and pick point at the ........ above. Make a block of above sentences and whenever you want to use them, just insert the block and change the client name in the display box appeared. You can even change it with the attedit command. Hope this helps...
sialtiel
You can use "wblock" or "w" to save your template in your blocks library and insert it for other drawing files. You can edit attributes by using "ate" for ATTEDIT if you want to change something.
Kerry Thompson
Double clicking on a block with attributes will provide a dialogue box to edit these attributes. They also appear on the properties palette and may be edited from there as well. The battman command will allow you to change the formating and order of attribute within a block.
