chow choppe
hi all... can someone tell me that how can i export a part of a movie (in Adobe Premiere)as a quick time file. i mean i set my time duration to six minutes in the beginning but i just need to export first 20 seconds as a quicktime movie using the file....export ..command . I have limited the render area by dragging the cursors in the top of the timeline...but still when i export these 20 seconds it exports the complete movie.... i have my images within this 20 seconds but the audio file i have kept is around 3 minutes...is this is what is causing the problem? That means can't export a part of movie... please help

taprice
Did you use the timeline to select the portion of the movie you wanted. It has been a while since I've used Premier but that would be the advise I have.
chow choppe
Hi tim i mentioned it that i am using that technique by making the timeline cursors within that limit.... the trick we use in "render work area" while taking a preview but it isn't helping
Bugga_Guy
I know there is an alternative way that you mentioned, but you can also just create a new video bar, cut the portion of animation you want to export out and place it in the new time slot, and turn the eye off for everything else but the new timeline (except what for the animation you don't want to turn off).. Chad Warner
With premiere pro, there is an option in the export settings to export only the work area or the entire project. I think there is a similar option in premiere 6.5 and 6.
