mzagorski
Hey all, I've got an Intellmouse Explorer 3 and REALLY like it.. but Im sick of having so many damn cables. I am tempted to get a Wireless Intellimouse Explorer... but I notice that they come with a received that plugs into the USB port - kinda defeated the purpose!... My Dell laptop has an infrared port on the right side and Im wondering if its possible to have the mouse use that instead of the microsoft supplied recieving unit? Anyone know about this? Cheers Mike
plastic
of course it's not possible. modern wireless mice use radio frequences, not infrared. there are some new microsoft bluetooth mice that work with bluetooth equipped notebooks, in addition to usb. Jeff Mottle
You can also get Bluetooth UBS mice http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouse/wiebt_info.asp and wireless mice like the one you are talking about but the transmitter is very amall and plugs into the USB port (no wires). Check out Tagus here for the wireless version http://www.targus.com/product_details.asp?sku=PAUM005U
