ecastillor
I have a dome mapped that I want to use to have my glass reflect it in vray...but not interfere with my ilumination, and show only in the reflections, not the background...is this possible? Brian Cassil
right click on the dome go to properties (not a vray user so not sure if there are vray properties or not), uncheck visible to camera and cast shadows. Hope this helps.
Tim Nelson
Usually what I do is create a standard material with 100% self illumination and apply my background map to it. Then I add a Vray material wrapper over it. Then you right click on the object and go into Vray properties. Then uncheck the box that says visible to gi. Then if you have any direct lights, you need to exclude that dome from any of those lights. Then...you're done! Also what Brian said is correct if you don't want to see the object in the background but still want it to be reflected.
