Iain Denby
Just noticed in Viz 6 if I apply a material to an object which is an Instance of many others, the material applies to them all! I can see why at times this is good, but most of the time I want the geometry to be an instance but have different materials. I've had to make those particular pieces Unique first. Am I missing something?
Chad Warner
In the material editor, under options, there is a checkbox "propogate materials to instances". Uncheck this and you'll be good to go.
Brian Cassil
That's a good tip! It's in max as well I just noticed. Just like Iain said, at times it's handy, but others not so being able to control it is pretty nice.
