mbr
How do you crop in Premiere? So if I have a video that's 640x480, but I want to cut off X amount off the top and bottom? Can I do that without starting a new project? Thanks.
raterry
Sure, it's pretty simple. There's are couple ways to do it but best is to make a mask in Photoshop that has black on top and bottom and white where you want to see your image. save it out. Make sure your clip is in "video 2" or higher, 1A and 1B wont work...select the clip you want to crop, right click and select "video options" > "transparency" Select "image matte" for the key type and navigate to the file you just created in photoshop. Hit OK and your done. Good Luck. -=rob
mbr
Hmmm, thanks, but that options not coming up. I've got the video in Video 2. Right clicking does not bring up "video options". If I go under Clip, there is the "video options", but it only has Field Options. Is there another approach or am I missing anything?
mbr
Ok, for now a psd with transparent center and black edges will work. It'd still be nice to figure it out, though. After Effects seems so much more intuitive than Premiere!
