Tim Saunders
any one ever seen this error. i get it about a minute after i hit render, then after clicking ok it just closes the render window. i am using radiosity for this scene. i had to abort vray for this one. it is a pretty complex interior with way to many lights. vray just takes way too long for that many lights. it was working fine until i put a few more lights in. is there such thing as too many lights? Bugga_Guy
I don't use vray, but I have seen that error (mostly in big scenes with alot of lights w shadows) - to answer your question about lights its more the shadow than the actual light. See if you can delete the number of lights, if not, turn shadows off for some of the lights. If you are using a light with a shadow bitmap - you can reduce the "size" value in the shadow map param box setting.

Brian Cassil
Hey Tim, Select your light, go to shadow map parms and in the size box reduce the value from 512 to 256. Or better yet go to tools menu, then light lister and you can adjust the map size for all the lights right there.

Wayne Harney
I get that often with shadow maps and usually I can shut down viz and restart it. Then it works fine. Pain in the ass though.
