borisram
Hi everybody Recently I heared that i could configure 3dMax the way that uses the Vga Card's processor to help the main processor to render and drecrease the render time. Is that true? where can I do that? If insn't true, how else can i speed up my renders (some tips)? Sorry about my english I have a Athlon 64 3500+, 1Gb Ram, 160 Sata HD, Geforce FX5200 Vga Card
Wayne Harney
Pretty sure that's not true. Video card only affects viewport performance. Settings all depend on the scene. The vray forums will probably help you the most. For starters use vray materials and keep your poly count as low as possible.
Devin Johnston
Yea that's a common misunderstanding and it's not true at all. There are some software makers who are trying to develope a process that uses the GPU in rendering but so far I haven't heard of any rendering platform that can take advantage of it but it will happen some day.
