Jago_0108
just one direct light with vray shadows for sun, gi at medium quality at least.... What about the rest of settings: Antialsising Global Switches GI 1st and 2nd bounces what type what parameters Etc For example whats the settings in the pool scene you made I cant make a realistic windows (glass) material for any scene and i tried the tutorials you sent me the other day. I think that its because of the settings, I now that the best way is to explore and make some tests but this scene Im trying is so slow that the tests take a lot of time, So any other settings post would be very helpful. Thanks Eduardo
slawnick
You might take a look at http://www.aversis.be/extra_tutorials/vray_basic_render_settings.htm I found this and the tut on VRAY materials quite useful; sheds a lot of light on all those settings, and what they do. Of course, there is http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/VRayHelp150beta/ Chaos Group's online VRay help.

We bought both his DVDs for our rendering Dept. Vray free has only limited material options. It only allows you to use vray settings in the reflect and refract maps in your Max standard material. I have it for my version of Max at home. I can apply some of what I learned from the DVDs to it, but you will not have access to an irradiance map, which saves your light prepass settings and no Vray HDRI map which is great for exterior lighting. I have successfully rendered a Brazil HDRI map with Vray though and would use that for more exterior work in the future. I don't do that much work from home, but once the demand is there, I will purchase the full version of Vray As soon as possible.
