InfraRed
Does anyone use a laptop to do their 3D work? For example - 3d max, GI, photoshop. Regards N
angelo
Yep, I did a lot of research and tested a few out--ended up getting the Toshiba 5205-705. It was one of the only cheaper models that had a big (64MB) nVidia card in it. If you have plenty of cash, get the Dell M50/M60 (128MB video card). The Gateway 600XL is a beast, but it can run some pretty big max files--I didn't get it due to some of the problems they've had with them... Toshiba has a great reputation, and fairly competitive prices. Good luck, Angelo
mbr
Take a look at the Dell 8600/D800. The 8600 has a Geforce 128mb card now. Pretty nice. The M60 comes with a Quadro 700 Go card, which I am guessing, is much better than the Geforce (but man, you pay a price for that laptop!).
