Ricardo Eloy
Hey, guys! I've been talking to some game developing friends and they told me they make extensive use of Normal Maps. As you probably know, it helps decreasing rendering times a lot, without losing details. My question is: can we use that with, let's say, radiosity in our models? I tried using a Normal Map as Normal Bump in the Bump slot of a Standard material, but got nothing worth looking at. Does anybody have any info about that? MegaPixel
Would using the Advanced Overide Material - Indirect Bump control help any for that? I can never get decent bumps in Radiosity or Light Tracer without that. David

Normal Maps can simulate complex geometry in no time, making render times a lot faster. The thing is that I`m trying to use them with radiosity, but the results are faaaaar from good. John Dollus
Normal maps do not work very well with any kind of GI that is baked into the actual mesh. If you turn off 'store direct illumination', it should work better since the normal map relies on direct light to give the right effect at render time.
