Sketchrender
Good day.# I work inthe Architectural Viz business in Ireland. I am thinking of investing in Some of the Doschdesign collection, namly the Surrounding skies, Hdri, construction materials, and 3d trees. Do any of you use these. I use max 7 , and vray free, but will upgrade to Vray advance as soon as the money becomes available. What is your opinion. Thanks phil
Tommy L
Dosch can be a bit hit and miss. We have a few of the collections. I only use the skies and as most clients want a sunny midday shot, I only use a couple of the sky maps for lighting then replace the sky with a home-made one, so you buy 50 skies and only use the HDR information from 2 of them (there are loads of free HDRIenviroments on the web). When you do this it makes the skylight map quite irrelevent as you might as well have used a regular map for reflections and a blue hue for skylight, but for some reason i like them. The car collection is ok, but there are some very dicey models on there. I think they have basically bought the rights to a load of models rather than made them all, so alot of them are quite unpredictable. Saying that, the truck collection is very good. I tend to find its better to make every material from scratch so i havnt really used the dosch material library. Im sure there are cheaper alternatives. Rather than splash out on a load of Dosch peripherals, I would recommend you put the money toward vray full version. It'll give you a better return. Hope that helps a bit. Tom.
