Vray Interior lighting

Hey there!

Well for some time now I've been experimenting with Vray and especially interior lighting... For some reason though, I havent been able to get a result which I'm satisfied with...

I've had problems with odd "flares" on the floor and loft, blurry images and so on... Well never mind that now..

So generally I would ask if somebody has any good tutorials, where I learn how to make interior scenes as the ones in the vray gallery? I have some tutorials but haven't really felt any major progress...

Also I've inluded a render, which I hope, you would help me improve i terms of lighting...

One specific problem which persists, is the "noise" i the "dark" areas of the walls.. How do I get rid of it?`

Settings:

Irradiance map (high, HSph subdivs 50, interp samples 30)

QMC: adaptive amount 0,45, noise threshold 0, min samples 26, multiplier 1,8)

By the way, I only have a crude knowledge of what these setting actually do / mean..

Hope you can help

For a basic scene... you may want to start with Vlado's tutorial:
