Greg Hess
I'm conducting market research. If anyone has, or has purchased an alienware system in the past, please send me a private message, and/or reply to this thread. Thanks!
Ernest Burden III
If anyone has, or has purchased an alienware system in the past, please send me a private message, and/or reply to this thread. Thanks! While this may not be directly helpful, I can say I might have purchased one of their computers last spring, but they could not build one in under two weeks--they were quoting more like three weeks. I called them, tried to twist an arm or two, nothing doing. There are some pre-made models at BestBuy, but not setup the way I would want one. Boxx built my machine in a few days. Greg Hess
Hey Ernest, It does help a bit...but I'm actually doing direct research on the packaging/execution of alienware systems. Not comparing them to other choices.
Chad Warner
Sorry to completely change the subject, but: Ernest or Greg, do you know how the Boxx compares to the Dell workstation? It seems like they are significantly less expensive for about the same system. I have always been partial to Dell, simply because that's what I've used, but the Boxx system certainly looks interesting. Thanks, Chad
Greg Hess
Dell's a Hyundai, Boxx is a Mercedes. That help the comparison a bit? There are some pretty extensive comparisons between the two on this forum (use the search function for boxx in this forum) and on cgtalk.com (use the search function in technical/hardware). I guess nobody has a alienware. Man its actually difficult to find someone.
xgarcia
Probably b/c most people with Alienware machines are strictly gamers.

Either that or they saw the cases in real. On the web they look kinda cool but this summer I went down into the US and had a look around Best Buy and saw they had Alienware PC's there and had a close look at it and found it to be kinda cheezy and bulky. -dave
