fernando-1
What's the best way to export and import objects from one Max project to another. That is I have a Max project with a few objects that I custom created and want to import them into a new project I just started. I tried exporting and importing as 3DS format file but aparently I loose a lot of the object's virtues and qualities. Any other method? Chad Warner
just use the merge option under "file" then you can choose the file you created the objects in and merge them into the new file.
mbr
I use the 'save selection' option often. It's a quick way of saving out specific things that can save time when you've got a large file you want to take things out of and bring them into another file (like a living room furniture set). Then just use the 'merge' and you won't have to search through a huge list. It would be nice if they'd introduce a 'copy and paste' option, where you could copy and paste from file to file (as you can with Autocad, FormZ, Illustrator, and countless other programs). abicalho
I'd vote against a copy/paste. An AutoCAD model is pretty simple, whereas a MAX object in itself can be megabytes in size - would you like to hold it all in the clipboard and gobble RAM?
